Louisiana Responsible Vendor Training

Louisiana law mandates that any employee dealing with customers who purchase or consume alcoholic beverages or tobacco products must complete an RV Course and obtain an RV Server Permit, also known as the 'Bar Card', within 45 days of hire. Our course ensures you learn to serve and sell alcohol legally and responsibly, meeting the Mandatory Training requirements set by the State of Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control.
After purchasing this training, please visit the ATC site and create your account HERE. Your training record will be reported to the ATC within 10 days of passing the final exam. Once your account is created and we report your training record (within 10 days), you will be able to print your Bar Card from the ATC website.

STATE-SPECIFIC INFORMATION
To qualify as a Responsible Vendor in the state of Louisiana, licensees must meet the following conditions:
- Have all new hires complete an approved alcohol server training program within 45 days from the date of hire.
- Submit the annual fee of $50.00 per licensed establishment.
- Provide all new employees with information on the local parish and municipal ordinances and regulations that affect the sale and service of alcohol at their establishment.
- Server training records must be maintained on the premises of the establishment at all times.
- Re-certification of all employees must occur every 4 years.
- Warning signs must be posted on the premises in order to inform customers of the establishment’s policy against selling alcohol to minors.
The ATC issues server permits, which must be renewed every 4 years by successfully completing an approved alcohol server training program. Licensees may verify that an employee’s server permit is valid by contacting the ATC. While on duty, a server is required to:
- Have their permit with them.
- Have at least one picture ID with them.

Important: To meet the standards set forth by the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC), students are required to provide a valid residential address when completing this training on our platform. Upon completion of the training, our system will verify the provided address to ensure its accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
If the address provided by the student is found to be invalid or non-compliant, you will be promptly notified via email regarding the discrepancy. You will then have 24 hours from the time of notification to provide a valid residential address (including an apartment number if applicable).
Failure to update the address within the specified timeframe will result in the reporting of training as failed to the ATC, thereby impacting the your ability to obtain a Bar Card. Additionally, should a you provide a valid address after the 24-hour deadline, requiring us to submit an entirely new roster to the regulatory agency, an administrative fee of $10 will be incurred.
